We had a very good time at the meet yesterday. We did not get what we came for! The first place all around spot eluded us again! Hannah scored beam-9.3, floor-9.35, bars-8.925 and vault-7.85 at her very lowest. She piked during practice and that turned her nerves of steel into jello. But just like a good athlete, she just shrugged it off and then moved on. We still have two more chances to get our goal. She's all pumped up and ready for the next one.

We are at the Bay Area today for another meet. Hannah's having a good

JJ and I have been playing Call of Duty 4 (Modern Warfare) a lot and we got to discussing toy guns and stuff. After checking out some sites and some toy guns, we finally had the itch to play with one. So yesterday we embarked on a quest to find a decent one. We ended up at Walgreens and we got a plastic cap gun, not exactly what I was looking for. HAzel went to market this morning and brought home this beautiful die cast metal cap gun that uses rolls. Another addition to my toy chest.

We're almost half way to our chosen picnic spot along the Mist Trail. We hiked it up to the base of vernal falls, the trail was a 2 hour hike with a 400 foot gain. We got to do a little rock climbing when looking for a good water hole for everybody to relax in.

I still have to get used to having little ones and I keep on forgetting that they could get themselves into funny debacles. Like the other day on the way to Hannah's gymnastics. As I pulled in to park the car I was already rolling the window up. I was telling hannah that we're there and gather all her stuff. I repeated it a couple of times and when I didn't get a response I looked in my rearview mirror wondering why she wasn't responding. Little did I know that while I was rolling the windows up she stuck her head outside the window and got stuck between the window and door. It was funny till I rolled the window down and she wailed, fright? Pain? I would never know.

Today would be another milestone in a life of an extraordinary young man. Our Jay turned thirteen today and the celebration was quiet but cheerful, everybody was home to celebrate his special day. Hazel made dinner and Jessie and I fired up the grill. Hannah... err... Hannah actually fell asleep while waiting for the food to be served, so she's the party pooper at tonight's party. That's right folks! We have a teenager in our hands!! It's kind of funny because he started filling in the role of one. Not long ago did he started fixing his hair, with gel!!! And just this morning he started color coordinating his wardrobe. What's next? Girls?

It has been said that during the holy week holiday (specifically good Friday), one must reflect on oneself while keeping up with what you have up for lent. We on the other hand made it to San Diego (once again) to enjoy a little fun in the sun. The drive took a little longer than expected, but it did not seem to be a problem with a Caramel Machiatto with a double shot of espresso in one hand and the wheel on the other. The kids started their morning with a trip to an Easter egg hunt hosted by the navy folks, and Joseph was nice enough to accompany us. And now we're at La Jolla soaking up the sun. Dunno what's in store for us later, but you'll soon find out.

It's a little over a month since I traded my khaki's and my Keen's for shorts and flip-flops. My californication process is underway. I loved the idea of being able to wear shorts in the winter time, where everybody looked really cold in 50 degree weather while I am chilling in my shorts. I have already been to a lot of places and believe me you, I have never seen so MUCH mountains in one place in all my life. I know I am rambling. We're situated in the North Central Valley where there's farms everywhere. The city of Stockton is a producer of asparagus where they hold an asparagus festival every year (I am thinking creamy asparagus soup YUM!). While Modesto (15 min away from Stockton) is a big producer of almonds that goes in a can of Blue Diamond Almonds whose headquarters is in Sacramento. San Francisco is in the west if you crave the hustle and bustle of the city and shopping (Union Square in mind). Hazel and I always head down to Castro when we're in town, and on the top of the list is the San Francisco Badlands. This is a place where you can hang loose and enjoy a drink or two with the hottest music blasting in the loud speakers while watching it on flat screen plasma TVs. A lot of queens in this joint but a lot of fun.

I am still trying to acclimate to my new environment. Trying to shun away my uptight, snobby, anal, fun-hating ways and just adapt to a more liberal, more environmentally friendly, more hippie-crunchy-granola type, healthy conscious way of living. East coasters are always conscious about time and schedules and also have this frankness in them (I included) which always been mistaken for being rude. Whereas west coasters tend to be more relaxed and laid back (I apologize if it sounds redundant).

I came across this quote about the difference between NY and LA

(No offense to all LA peeps out there, this is something I read over the web and I thought is funny because the New York part I find it to be true.)

Being a resident of the east coast (mid-Atlantic specifically) for 16 long years, this californication process of mine would be an adventure. So watch out for more updates :o)

Today was a very nice day for a stroll. The girls and I agreed to
venture out Old Sacramento. Had lunch at Joe's Crab Shack and then
walked around town. There was an array of antique and novelty shops.
We went on a horse buggy around town and that was also a treat. On
the middle of town we met these pretty quirky folks called the Blue
Canyon Gang, as you can see in the picture they're pretty old and dusty.

2007 was really a huge blur for me. It was a quick but a trying one. All I can really remember was that I spent most of my time trying to be busy, work especially. I have been doing doubles since June and that is unheard of. Years end is just around the corner, and change didn’t really start till the last leg of the year. I think life has a very creative way of bringing color to one’s life such as mine, and this time it became much brighter. Destiny is a word that suggests a great or noble course or end, and from the events that developed through the last course of the year….. I do believe that these events are destined to happen. Hazel has been in and out of my life since I was 15 years old (thanks for pointing that out). We’ve crossed paths so many times that our history is like figure eights that a skater makes when on ice. The minute our paths crossed this time, I felt that this was it and that I am not going to let this chance pass me by one more time. It’s like now or never! It’s a do or die thing, where if I don’t do it… I feel I am going to die. It wasn’t easy because I was not free at the time but my gut was telling me that this is something right and that I should follow it. My subconscious is also becoming a back seat driver in this wild ride that I was going to get on. So I took the plunge into the abyss of uncertainty because it is better than to swim in a sea of what ifs. 2008 would be a start of everything for me. A new life, a new love, maybe a new job (?). Wherever destiny may lead us, I am confident that we would not be criss-crossing paths this time. We would be in unison with one another, walking side by side, walking the same line….

Six days from now we’ll say goodbye to 2007. As I look back and evaluate what this year has brought my life, I could say it turned out to be a good year after all. I had my share of ups and downs. This last quarter of the year is very overwhelming. My life took a 360 degrees turn from my dad being diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer to finally facing the truth of who I really am. I have learned that life is too short … all my life I have tried to please all the people around me. I tried acting within the norms of society to be able to make my loved ones happy and spare them the pain that I can cause if I became true to myself. Last October 26th my 36th birthday came my day of realizing how much I have missed my real self. A long lost love came back to my life, it has been 15 years since then that I felt right about everything and this time I told myself I won’t let go this emotional high that I have forgotten. Anna May has been a part of my life almost 20 years ago. Our paths have crossed so many times that come to think of it ….it’s unexplainable. We never had a real relationship until 1993 when she finally realized that she wanted to have this relationship with me. Finally, I told myself my patience paid off. I have loved this girl almost half her life and I can’t wait to have her to myself. Unfortunately, time was not on our side we just have to forget of what we had because of all the people who can’t accept me for who I really am. I regret the time that I didn’t fought for what we had because what we had was so beautiful and it was a relationship that was built with love, patience, understanding and most of all acceptance. I know I can’t turn back time to make things right but it’s certainly not too late to be true to myself and to the people I love. I have a good man beside me and two wonderful kids who I am proud of. Finally, I have to be true to myself and admit to them that I am a Lesbian all my life. I thank you for accepting me for who I truly am and I thank you for accepting me and my long lost love. Now that the year is almost over I am just starting my journey with my partner and I love the fact that you’re all mine now honey…I love the thought of us finally being together and living the life we should have been fifteen years ago. So from then on I will be posting our life’s journey with my partner, my buddy and the two beautiful blessings that brought us all together.
